Radisson Blu Glasgow: Hotel Review

Hey there! I wanted to share my experience at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland. I stayed here for a night this May before embarking on my Lake District adventure (more on that coming soon!)

First off, the location of this hotel is on point! It's right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and shops. I took the bus from Glasgow airport, then had about a 7-8 minute walk to the hotel door. Whether I wanted to explore the vibrant nightlife or soak in some culture at the nearby museums, everything was really close. Did I do that? No, I was exhausted from my overnight flight and long travel day.

Now, let's talk about the rooms. The room I had was comfortable and clean, a cozy space to relax after a day of sightseeing or traveling. While not super spacious, it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfy, and the amenities were more than adequate. Plus, the views from the window were a definite bonus – I had a great vantage point over Glasgow Central station.

For fitness enthusiasts (i.e. not me), the hotel's gym was equipped with the basics, though it seemed to be under renovation while I was there.

The dining options at the hotel were alright. Breakfast had a decent variety of choices, but it really was just a regular hotel breakfast. There was also a restaurant and bar, but I didn’t eat there.

If I had to nitpick, the Wi-Fi could have been a bit faster. Honestly, with how exhausted I was by the time I got to Glasgow, I didn't spend too much time online anyway.

The hotel staff were friendly and approachable, but again, with such a short stay and most of that time spent catching up on sleep, I didn’t really interact with them outside the check-in and check-out processes.

A really neat thing during my stay was the elevator with a glass ceiling! It gave a unique view of the city as I went up and down, which was a nice touch.

In terms of money? We have no money. It was pretty pricey at £219.51 for one night, but it was a prime location and a Saturday, so it makes sense.

All in all, the Radisson Blu Glasgow is a decent choice for a stay in the city. Its location and friendly staff make it a convenient and comfortable option for exploring Glasgow, or as a good place to stay before you embark on a driving adventure (like I did). While it doesn't offer anything out of this world, it is very suitable as a reliable base for your wandering in this vibrant Scottish city.
